GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR NEW PSR-E483/E583

Welcome to the world of PSR-E483/E583!

A portable keyboard is an instrument that lets you enjoy rich, band-style performances even when playing solo by combining various “Voices” played on the keys with “Styles,” which are auto-accompaniments. The PSR-E483/E583 features over 860 voices and 345 styles, allowing you to instantly play your favorite songs—from modern pop to traditional music.

As your first step toward enjoying the portable keyboard, try the following five steps!

[POINT] Steps 1 to 4 below correspond to the default Registration Memory 1-1 to 1-4 on the PSR-E483/E583.

STEP1 Try the First Performance - Just Press Black Keys

[HOW TO] Press [Regist1] Button > Press [START/STOP] Button > Press and Hold Any 3 Black Keys

In this step, you can experience the "Voice" and "Style" functions, which are the most important elements of a portable keyboard.

With just the black keys, you'll enjoy a performance that feels like you're a real keyboardist!

[Advanced] At any time, press and hold the [Motion Effect] button—or release it—to apply or remove the effect.

On this progression, playing any black keys will not take you out of the scale, allowing you to play comfortably and enjoyably.

STEP2 Try the Different Combination of "Voice" and "Style"

[How To] Press [Regist2] Button > Press [START/STOP] Button > Press and Hold Any 3 Black Keys

The performance mechanism in this step is the same as in STEP1, but the combination of “Voice” and “Style” has been changed.

You'll see how a song's impression can be transformed significantly by altering just combinations of these two—Voice and Style.

[Advanced] To add variation to the music, try changing the Style section by pressing the [MAIN A] or [MAIN B] button.

STEP3 Play the Melody with Guitar Voice

[How To] Press [Regist3] Button > Press [START/STOP] Button > Press and Hold Any 3 Black Keys

[Advanced] Press [Arpeggio] button to turn it OFF > Play single black keys randomly as a melody > Control the Pitch Bend Wheel with your left hand to reproduce the guitar's bending technique.

[POINT] The Pitch Bend Wheel lets you control the pitch of the "Voice" you're playing. When applied to a guitar sound, it can realistically reproduce the expressive bending technique used by guitarists.

STEP4 Combine the Techniques We Tried in STEP 1–3

[How To] Press [Regist4] Button > Press [START/STOP] Button > Press and Hold Any 3 Black Keys

The basic operation is the same as in the previous steps. Now, try adding the techniques you've learned—such as moving across octaves, adding the Motion Effect, or changing the Style sections. If you can do all this, you're already a true keyboard player!

[Advanced] You can make the performance more dramatic by turning Style's each part ON/OFF individually.

STEP5 Try to Create Your Own Performance

Apply what you've learned in the previous steps to challenge yourself by recreating a song you want to play.

Use “Style” to build the foundation of the song, play the melody or phrases with “Voice,” set or adjust the tempo, and add nuance to your performance using other features.

[POINT]

・ Use the [TEMPO/TAP] button to easily change the tempo of the Style. Set it to match the tempo of the song you want to play.

・ By altering Motion Effect TYPE, Knob ASSIGN, and Arpeggio TYPE or revoicing the Style parts, you can create your own original arrangement!
